Service Description: The dataset contains the spatial distribution data of birds (breeding) as reported by Member States for the two reporting rounds 2008-2012 and 2013-2018. For the reporting 2013-2018 the data includes the short-term population trends at MS level. Sensitive species were removed from the dataset. From the single MS reports one European distribution dataset with 10x10km grid cells was produced. The entire dataset was then aggregated based on species Code and Country [CO_MS]. All data was supplied under the Article 12 (Birds Directive 2009/147/EC) reporting process. Additional information: Detailed information about the reporting under Article 12 of the Habitats Directive can be obtained from: https://www.eea.europa.eu/themes/biodiversity/state-of-nature-in-the-eu/explore-nature-reporting-data. Most of the reported data as well as the assessments of status and trends at the EU level can be visualised in the web tool: http://bd.eionet.europa.eu/article12/.
